Cooperation between Knack for Art? and SNG ends

Statement from 23/01/2025 on the termination of cooperation between Do you have an artistic gut? and SNG:

Dear Slovak National Gallery,

I would like to inform you that the international platform Knack for Art?, focused on the development of creative education in primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, has decided to react to the events in the Slovak National Gallery and officially withdraw from the long-term cooperation within the Knack for Art? The reason is the organizational steps and regulations of the current management, which complicate and make adequate work performance impossible, as well as the fact that, based on these statements, a team of professional workers and our colleagues from the teaching department left the gallery.

In our work, we place a fundamental emphasis on the development of education and culture in Central Europe. We have more than 15 years of experience and long-term cooperation with the most important exhibition institutions of Central Europe, such as the National Gallery in Prague, the Moravian Gallery in Brno, the Center for Contemporary Art DOX, the Rudolfinum Gallery, the Ludwig Museum in Budapest, but also the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden or the Palace of Arts in Lviv. We are part of European educational structures and participate in creating a cultural environment for children and students across society and borders. We consider the SNG teaching department to be one of the most professionally managed even in the European context. His work is progressive and inspiring not only in his work with the public, but also within the educational system in Slovakia. After all, the very way of working and managing the successful project Knack for Art? During the nine years of work within the project, the team of the SNG teaching department built a functioning structure that annually reached hundreds of students from all over Slovakia and offered them the opportunity to gain additional personal and professional experience, taught them to work in a team and supported their development of competence and independence.

Our organization teaches young people to make free decisions, to be creative and to stick to the truth and basic moral values. The events in the SNG in recent months clearly show that we perceive these values ​​differently. It is for this reason that we withdraw from further cooperation with your institution.
