On 20 May 2016 the 7th finale of the competition Do You Have a Knack for Art? took place in the Moravian Gallery in Brno. Altogether 26 projects by high school students from across the Czech Republic advanced to the finale. These projects were evaluated by the jury of art professionals from learning departments and curators of the National Gallery in Prague, Moravian Gallery in Brno, Centre for Contemporary Art DOX and members of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. The most interesting project according to the jury was presented by students of the High School and College of Art and Design and College in Brno.

“Portrait vs Self-Portrait’ is the topic of the 7th year of the competition, which focuses on the current trend of interest in the presentation of the self, mobile “selfies” and videos capturing one’s personality. The final student works are based on the above mentioned topic as well as on an arbitrary subject matter with a similar message. Form, artistic approach and medium is up to the students themselves.
